The Collaborative for Gender + Reproductive Equity (CGRE) is an active, learning community of donors and foundations uniting to advance gender, reproductive, and racial equity. We focus on three core areas: building power at the state level; advancing gender equity through state courts; and uniting movement partners to respond to and proactively counter attacks by the opposition. Since our launch, we have provided over $139 million in funding to more than 200 organizations, half of which are led by women of color. CGRE is a fully-virtual organization, fiscally-sponsored by Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors (RPA).

The Opportunity:

The Data + Operations Associate will be deeply committed to gender, reproductive, and racial equity, and eager to learn how CGRE facilitates the power of philanthropy to fund
and strengthen social movements. They will understand how operations and administrative functions can be fundamental to sustaining and growing healthy, adaptive
organizations. They will see data as central to analysis and learning, and strive for clarity and accuracy in data entry, synthesis, and writing. The Associate will be responsible for data and operations functions related to fundraising, communications, and grants management. A meticulous professional who loves data and operational processes will thrive in this role; it is not geared toward those pursuing a career on the program side of social justice nonprofits.

    recommendations for system improvements.
  • Coordinate grantmaking and reporting processes.
  • Create and maintain centralized systems in Google Drive, Box, Salesforce, Fluxx,

Administration + Operations

  • Handle contracts and invoicing, liaise with RPA, and troubleshoot operations hiccups.
  • Take the lead on virtual filing and other administrative tasks.
  • Provide back-up to the Operations Associate, when required, to schedule and organize meetings and take notes.

  • Serve as point-person for the research and data needs of the Executive Director, Chief Philanthropy and Communications Officer, and Program team.
  • Remain up-to-date on trends in CGRE’s fields, and on flagship data sources and organizations that can nourish CGRE’s principles, outreach, and work.
  • Any in-person meetings and travel would only occur when safe and permissible, given COVID-19 travel restrictions.

The Candidate:

The Data + Operations Associate will be committed to advancing a broad range of gender, reproductive, and racial equity issues, including access to comprehensive
abortion care. They will understand power dynamics and how they play out in society and the workplace, and be aligned with incorporating Justice, Equity, Diversity, and
Inclusion (JEDI) principles into daily work and partnerships.

  • Minimum 1-3 years in an operations role with heavy data entry, data management, and presentation preparation responsibilities.
  • Experience delivering high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional or activist background in social justice; philanthropy or fundraising experience a plus.
  • Experience working remotely as part of a collaborative team.

  • Extremely tech adept; ease with virtual office platforms, including G-Suite, MS Office, Zoom, and Box; Salesforce and Fluxx skills a plus.
  • Organized and committed to accuracy.
  • Strong writing and editing skills.
  • Able to take initiative, manage own workflow, and manage up.
  • Opportunity-focused and optimistic.
  • Able to build trust and work collaboratively with teammates and external partners; poised and comfortable with colleagues with different workstyles and levels of formality.
  • Flexible and able to juggle different tasks, to prioritize and reprioritize, and to occasionally adjust working hours to accommodate time zone differences.
  • Resourceful in a virtual environment, including problem solving and knowing when to engage colleagues and managers.
  • A pitch-in, start-up attitude; humble; a sense of humor.

Compensation + Benefits:

CGRE, through fiscal sponsorship by RPA, offers a competitive compensation and benefits package including health coverage, retirement benefits, paid sick leave, vacation, and holidays. The salary for the Data + Operations Associate is $68,000. The Associate will work remotely and come equipped with virtual office tools, including computer, phone, and other technology needs.
