Capacity Strengthening Initiative

CGRE believes that investments in individuals and organizations are foundational to developing strong movements and healthy ecosystems of care and action.

In support of this aim, CGRE’s Capacity Strengthening Initiative, implemented in partnership with several field partners, includes optional offerings to address organizational and individual capacity strengthening and leadership development for current grantee partners. This initiative includes resources accessible to current CGRE grantee partners and emphasizes support to state-based organizations and organizations who have historically had limited access to this type of support.

CGRE’s Capacity Strengthening Initiative includes both direct, responsive support and indirect support via vetted third-party capacity partners. This approach enables us to be responsive to immediate needs in the short-term and to address broader individual, organizational, and network needs identified by field leadership over time. All offerings are optional.

Program design is centered around three core principals:

  • Ensure equitable access across program areas and across different types of grantee partners.
  • Prioritize operational efficiency of any renewed or additional offerings.
  • Utilization of offerings is opt-in for grantee partners and participation has no bearing on other CGRE funding decisions.

If you are a current CGRE grantee partner and want to inquire about the range of offerings available through our Capacity Strengthening Initiative, please email us.

Support from the Capacity Strengthening Initiative is only available for current CGRE grantee partners. We are grateful to our grantee partners who navigate the current environment and provide critical leadership in the pursuit of gender, reproductive, and racial equity.
